Performing Arts at Wallan is lots of fun. The three strands of the Victorian Curriculum are taught across the Foundation to Year Two cohorts. The strands are Dance, Drama and Music. These focus areas involve singing, dancing, instruments, plays, performing and much more.
At Wallan we have a large variety of Percussion Instruments and are in the process of buying more instruments for students to play. In the classroom we have a large free-standing Xylophone and an electric piano that the students get to use.
We also have a stage where students can dance, perform on and do mini plays. Along with a huge free dance area.
Each year the students celebrate Christmas with a concert where they might sing and or dance.
This term we have Foundation students playing different percussion instruments each week. They will explore and try to play songs. The year one students are learning more instrument names and which family group instruments belong to. Year two students are creating plays including the props, line development and filming of the shows.
