Wallan Primary School held their Whole School Cross Country on Monday 6th March 2023. The weather certainly turned it on for us today.
The day started with 9/10 year olds with a very competitive boy’s race. Then for the first time ever the Foundation students lined up for their event. The enthusiasm on their faces was a sight to be seen. They ran a lap around the school oval and received a ribbon for their efforts. We then had a break for recess. The 11 year olds were next with a lot of students jostling at the start line for the best positions. Year 1 students turned up to watch and get ready for their race. They also did a lap around the school oval and gained valuable points for their house colour. The final two races of the day were for students aged between 12/13 and the Year 2’s. They arrived early and gave great support to the other students finishing their race.
Each student who participated gained very valuable points for their house. The final house placings for the day was:
4th Place – MITCHELL (Green House)
3rd Place – BURKE (Yellow House)
2nd Place – HOVELL (Red House)
1st Place - HUME (Blue House)
Thank you to all the volunteers. Days like this cannot be held without support from the school community. Once again, thank you to all the students and teachers that participated and I hope that you all enjoyed the day.
Mrs Stacey
